Why is my activity being flagged? I don't think it should be.

Does the recruit have an option selected in the Class field? Such as: High School, 2-Year College, 4-Year College, or Post-High School Non-College

  • If not, ACS InControl will mark the activity as a flag because there is no athlete rule to apply the activity to. Update the Class field to reflect the athlete's class and the system will update the flag status over night if it is a logged compliance activity.

Does the recruit have an option selected in the Subclass field if a 2-Year College recruit? Such as: 1st Year Non-Qualifier, 1st-Year Qualifier, or Beyond 1st Year

  • If not, ACS InControl will mark the activity as a flag because there is no athlete rule to apply the activity to. Update the Subclass field for the 2-Year College recruit and the system will update the flag status over night if it is a logged compliance activity.

All activities on a certain date are red flagged as potential violations, but the activities are allowed on that date according to NCAA rules manual. Are your rules configured properly?

  • If not, ACS InControl will mark the activity as a potential violation because the logged activity lies outside of the allowable range or number.

To update your rules engine configuration:

  1. Hover over the Compliance tab
  2. Click on Settings
  3. Under Step 2, select the appropriate configuration settings depending on the type of activity
  4. From here, update the sport or athlete classification rules as needed

There is a phone call violation for a coach of an athlete. Is that coach in the Personal Contact section of the recruit's profile?

  • If yes, ACS Incontrol will ignore (e.g. not flag) phone calls and activities when considering coaches in the Contacts section. However, Personal Contacts are not treated this way unless the relationship is set to Other because the system is developed to catch phone calls/texts to Personal Contacts as its most likely going to get back to the athlete. Update the flag status to Approved if appropriate.

A flag occurs for a recruit that signed an NLI. Does the recruit have a date entered in the NLI Date field?

  • If not, ACS InControl will mark all activities outside permissible range as potential violations. Update the NLI Date field in the Recruit Profile and ACS will update the flag status over night for logged phone call activities.

A flag occurs for calls near Official Visits or on Contact Date: Does this recruit have the corresponding activities filled out in the Official Visit form?

  • If not, ACS InControl will mark all calls near an Official Visit and on contact dates as potential violations. Add the corresponding activities and ACS InControl will update the flag status over night for logged phone call activities.
