I CC'ed myself on an email. Why is the first name merge code populating with a different name?

  • When you CC a recipient on an email, the system will tie that email to a random recipient's name for sending purposes only. This is because a true CC is designed to send to a recipient as many times as the email is sent.
    • For Example: If you mass email 200 prospects within your system and CC yourself, you would receive the email 200 times.
  • The system enables the email address, even though not entered into the system, to be tied to someone's name so that the recipients do not receive it multiple times.
